A press conference was held on Thursday, April 4, 2018, at the Cyta Headquarters Amphitheater for the 3rd Robotex Pancyprian Robotics Competition
The event was welcomed by the main contributors of Robotex 19, namely the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) as the organizer, the University of Cyprus and the Youth Organization as co-organizers, Cyta as a Strategic Partner, the Ministry of Education as a supporter, the Bank of Cyprus as a Youth Supporter , the University of Nicosia as the Educational Innovational Leader, the Research Promotion Foundation and RISE as Gold Sponsors and IET and Engino as Silver Sponsors.

CCS Vice President Mr Andreas Loutsios highlighted the role that last year's success plays in combination with this year's competition upgrade to the achievement of the competition's objectives, namely the development of the educational robotics sector and the attraction of children and young people to STEM areas.
Mr. Panicos Masouras, Mr George Georgiou and Mr Pericles Cheng, members of the Organizing and Scientific Committee of ROBOTEX Cyprus, presented the competition, indicating that it is addressed to students and adults while participation is free of charge. In addition, the organizers explained to the public that contestants, with the help of the coach-trainer, are called upon to prepare teams to create robots to compete in the various challenges while the winners will be eligible to participate in the ROBOTEX International in Estonia.
Mr. Masouras, CCS Secretary, stressed that challenges such as the SUMO and MAZE as well as the educational robotics exhibition by the elementary students are expected to have an impact not only on young contestants but also on to their friends and families who will attend to support them.
